Date: Saturday, 11th June 2022
Time: 2PM GMT
Duration: 2 hours (with time for Q&A)

This masterclass will take place online via Zoom and is open to students from anywhere.

Translation allows us to enjoy literature that has been written in a different language. Translation is in itself an act of writing as you get to recreate a text from scratch. In this class you will be shown how to harness your love for language and taught how to capture the sensibilities in a text through translation.

The masterclass will be taught by Edwige-Renée Dro, who is an experienced writer and translator working with English and French. In this masterclass, you will get an introduction to what it takes to make a good literary translation. In addition to elements of how to translate, the masterclass will focus on literary translation as activism –  why translate/motivations, etc.
