Nuances in POV

£20.00

Date: Saturday, 22 April 2023
Time: 2PM GMT
Duration: 2 hours (with time for Q&A)

This masterclass will take place online via Zoom and is open to students from anywhere.

Point of view (POV) shows who is telling a story and the perspective through which the story is narrated. This element is integral to the way a reader interacts with any story. First-person POV, for instance, keeps the narration limited to a single character’s perspective, while third-person omniscient POV allows for a broader view that includes the perspectives of multiple characters. Many writers have started stories afresh after realising the initial POV used does not work, and this is where understanding the nuances in POV comes in.

In this masterclass, T.L. Huchu, author of the novels The Hairdresser of Harare and The Maestro, The Magistrate & The Mathematician will show you the advantages, limitations, reliability and unreliability of the different points of view used in storytelling. This masterclass is open to both emerging and established writers. To apply, click on the JOIN NOW button above. The deadline is 21st April 2023.
